Most 'top coaching app' blog posts are sponsored rankings. We built the opposite — a transparent price sheet across every coaching SaaS in India. Subscription, commission, hidden setup fees, and what you actually pay over 3 years for a real coaching business doing ₹10L/year.
Methodology
We took a representative Indian coaching business — a mid-sized coaching doing ₹10 lakh in annual course revenue across 200 students — and computed three-year total platform cost for each vendor. Inputs used:
Pricing on Classplus and AppX is custom-quoted, so we used the midpoint of publicly reported deal sizes for ₹10L-revenue institutes. Your actual quote may vary.

The surprising winner
Most “coaching app comparison” articles put Teachmint first on price because its free tier exists. What they don’t say: Teachmint’s paid tier is where real coaching businesses live, and at ₹10L revenue, Teachmint’s effective cost is ₹50K–75K/year — roughly tied with Igniter.
At ₹5L revenue (smaller coaching), Igniter costs ₹25K; Teachmint paid costs ₹50K; Classplus costs ₹60K+. At ₹20L revenue (larger coaching), Igniter costs ₹1L; Classplus costs ₹1.5–2L; Graphy costs ₹1.25–1.75L; Rigi costs ₹2–3L. At every band except “I am doing ₹0 and just want to experiment” — where Rigi, Teachmint-free, and Igniter are all ₹0 — Igniter is among the two cheapest and is cheapest without any compromise on features.
The reason is structural: a platform that charges subscription plus commission double-taxes every rupee you sell. Igniter charges commission only. The gap compounds.

FAQ
Any platform with a ₹0 entry is tied — Rigi, Teachmint free tier, and Igniter all let you sign up for zero. But Rigi's per-sale take is 10–15%, Teachmint free caps features, and Igniter stays at 5% with full features, so Igniter is cheapest the moment you make your first sale.
Igniter at ₹25,000 (5% of ₹5L). Next cheapest is Teachmint paid at ~₹50K. Classplus lands at ~₹55–70K. Graphy at ~₹50–70K. Rigi at ~₹75K–1L (high per-sale take).
Igniter at ₹1L (5% of ₹20L). Classplus at ~₹1.5–2L. Graphy at ~₹1.25–1.75L. Rigi at ~₹2–3L. Exly at ~₹1–1.5L.
At very high revenue (~₹2 crore+/year), Classplus enterprise contracts can negotiate rates below 5%. Below ₹2 crore, Igniter wins on price every time.
For a tiny home tutor using Teachmint's free tier with limited features, yes — both are ₹0. The moment you need a branded app, DRM video, live classes, or actual business features, Teachmint requires a paid plan that is roughly the same cost as Igniter's 5%, without Igniter's flat-fee simplicity.
An agency-built coaching app costs ₹2–10 lakh upfront plus ₹30K–1L/year in maintenance. At 3-year TCO, even at high volume, SaaS on Igniter (5% of 3 × ₹10L = ₹1.5L) is cheaper than agency (₹2L+ upfront alone).
No. 5% on course sales + pass-through Razorpay fee (~2%). GST is charged on top per Indian regulation. No storage overage, no student cap, no tier gate, no SMS surcharge.
